LA’s Emerging Indie Designers – One’s to Watch

Prospering in Los Angeles by bringing technology into design and fit is just what Prosperity Denim’s founder Michelle Mulleneaux does daily.  A veteran in the denim industry (Michelle has two other denim lines: Ashley Mason and Glitter and Gloss), Michelle felt there was a need to infuse the fit experience into a better contemporary denim.  She is not only focused on providing the luxurious feel of high-end denim fabric, but providing a fit and style for women up to size 33.

Prosperity Denim has garnered the attention of larger retailers like Nordstrom with its beautiful designs.  The denim line appeals to a broad audience from millennials to baby boomers, it’s no wonder this brand has achieved so much in such a short time.  Mulleneaux is a champion for women and wants to provide her audience with confidence in their denim choices. Understanding not all women are made equal, Prosperity Denim gives the buyer many choices of style, stretch and fit.  Find this denim: nordstroms.com

Not to be forgotten is the emerging designs of Mitchell Evan.  A military inspired all American men’s brand. Mitchell Evan debuted in 2015.  They are finding their niche as one of LA’s rising menswear brands.

As a luxury menswear line made in Los Angeles, California, this line has considered the choices of the modern male.  Outerwear and the everyman California casual loungewear is their sweet spot. The brand focuses on soft, comfortable fabrics that everyone wants to wear.

Some styles are finished with unique hand dye treatments intended to enhance the Mitchell Evan essentials collection. Mitchell Evan is designed with both east and west coasts in mind. Their  loungewear is inspired by the laid back aesthetic styles of the west coast, while the outerwear is functional and crisp for the east coast. Every piece by Mitchell Evan travels well and is perfect for layering and wearing year-round.  Personally, I find many of these pieces look better over time. The devil is in the details, and Mitchell Evan is making its mark thru gorgeous finishings, like cool buttons and threads that stand out. Making this brand a leading choice for the gentleman seeking understated comfort and style. www.mitchellevan.com

Swim is in, but what separates the designs of one bathing suit over the other?  Paradise Ranch Designs is a local Los Angeles brand bringing some excitement into a swim and resort wear. Founder & Designer Kristyn Goddard has re-imagined swim and resort to be sexy and functional without having to also be super skimpy and all too revealing.  Recognizing more women wanted to look and feel great with just a bit more coverage, this brand is daring to be different with style, fabrics and design.

One of my favorite details of this line is the matching pieces for both woman and canine.  This is something close to Goddard’s heart. Being a canine advocate, she is also an owner of a cage free dog boarding facility. This multifaceted talented designer has really put her heart into creating special pieces for the active woman.  “Out of the ocean and into the carpool line to pick up the kids” Kristyn says women want more functional pieces.
