Miami in December is not just a place for me. It is a ritual, a homecoming, a birthday week that has shaped my creative life for years. When I lived in New York City, shooting backstage at NYFW and telling stories as a creative director and fashion photographer, I made one promise to myself. When early December arrived, I flew home to the 305.
That flight was my reset button, my sanctuary, my reminder that the creative spirit inside me still had a pulse.
Every year, the Satellite Art Fairs were my true north. Each one has its own vibe and its own heartbeat, curated in a way that feels personal when you’re inside it. These are the spots where you stop rushing, breathe for a second, and let the art actually speak to you. This is where Miami Art Week feels honest and alive.
Each fair is its own universe. Each one reshapes your imagination. Each one reminds you that art still surprises us.
As both an artist and the Culinary and Culture Editor of Lapalme Magazine, I’ve crafted this experience especially for you, our readers. This isn’t simply a guide; it’s a thoughtfully curated journey. I’ve woven in visuals I’ve created myself, capturing the essence of each fair and inviting you to step into a world seen through my artistic and editorial eyes. It’s more than just information, it’s an artful experience crafted just for you.
So step into comfortable shoes. Charge your iPhone like your life depends on it. Blend sunscreen with a little liquid bronzer. And dolls, pack one or two backup looks. Miami has a way of inviting you into rooms you didn’t plan for, and we do not repeat outfits on socials. Not on my watch.
Let me guide you through the Satellite Art Fairs that define the real soul of Miami Art Week.

RED DOT MIAMI
Red Dot Miami is polished, vibrant and full of artistic confidence. It is the sister fair to Spectrum, but it holds its own with a more curated, gallery driven perspective. The energy here is refined yet accessible, perfect for collectors who want contemporary work with presence and personality.
Expect returning exhibitors such as Art Love Gallery, Arte Collective, Contemporary Art Projects USA and the Artblend roster along with international galleries that deliver bold, statement making pieces. The fair is known for strong mixed media presentations, glossy figurative work and large scale contemporary art that photographs beautifully for your feed.

Red Dot is where you go when you want a mix of sophistication, color and a touch of Miami attitude.

AQUA ART MIAMI
Stepping into Aqua feels like entering a creative dream. A vintage South Beach courtyard hotel becomes a glowing haven where every room holds its own heartbeat. Conversations drift through open doorways and you feel like you are walking through a living collage.
Galleries such as Hang Art Gallery, Walter Wickiser Gallery, Torpedo Factory artists and Jennifer Perlmutter Projects have shown here for years, bringing thoughtful emerging artists into the spotlight.

Bring energy. Scope will match it.

SPECTRUM MIAMI

This is the rebellious child of Miami Art Week. Performance art, immersive installations, experimental ideas and unfiltered creative chaos all collide here. It is unpredictable and unforgettable.
Expect avant garde collectives, pop ups and creators who think in directions most people never consider.
Wear comfortable shoes and bring water. Trust me.

PRIZM ART FAIR
Prizm is one of the most powerful spaces you can step into during Miami Art Week. It centers artists from the African and African Diaspora and brings forward work shaped by cultural truth, emotional power, and narrative depth. Past partners include Spinello Projects, N’Namdi Contemporary, and a network of Caribbean and Southern Diaspora curators whose exhibitions consistently become some of the most talked-about moments of the week.

CONTEXT
Context is the sophisticated sister to Art Miami. It’s where rising galleries and mid-career voices get the spotlight, offering work that feels fresh, polished, and ready to be discovered. The energy here is calmer, more curated, and intentionally paced.

ART MIAMI
Art Miami is the fair that feels like the city’s creative backbone during Miami Art Week. It is polished, intentional and quietly commanding in a way that makes you slow down the moment you step inside. The curation is elegant and assured. Nothing is rushed. Nothing is loud for the sake of being loud. It is a fair that knows exactly who it is.
You will find established galleries presenting work with presence and confidence. Past editions have featured respected names including Chase Contemporary, Cernuda Arte, Hollis Taggart, Nikola Rukaj Gallery and UNIX Gallery. These are exhibitors who show up ready to make an impression and they always do.
The crowd here is a mix of collectors, advisors and insiders who are not wandering. They are looking. Evaluating. Taking in the work with intention. Art Miami is the fair where the conversations are slower, the pauses are longer and the art stays with you after you leave.
If you want a clear sense of where contemporary art stands right now, start here. Art Miami rewards attention, curiosity and a willingness to circle back for one more look.

IN CLOSING
So however you move through the city, move with intention. Miami Art Week isn’t for the faint of heart and the traffic will absolutely test your spirit. Walk when you can. Scooter when it feels rebellious. Uber when you surrender. Take a boat taxi when you want to feel dramatic. And darling, if someone offers you a helicopter, we say yes before they finish the sentence.
Just get yourself there. Wander. Let the crowds part where they may. Let something unexpected pull you in and remind you why art keeps choosing you again and again.
Enjoy Miami Art Week and explore the fairs. It is chaos, beauty, inspiration and that unmistakable Miami magic and you are meant to be right in the heart of it.
