“The collection is my idea of travelling in different ways. If I change the tapestry of my chair from pink to blue, I sit and I travel. With a book you can travel, on the subway you can travel,” Alessandro Michele shared the inspiration of his latest collection for GUCCI on Instagram.
Giving your visual senses full stimulation. Bright mix and matched patterns, accessories resplendent with appliques, embroideries and patches of Donald Duck, you almost don’t know where to look first. Alessandro Michele’s inspiration of treasured vintage pieces and antique textiles is paired with bringing back the brand’s iconic colors and logos all while keeping the collection very current. With nods to aristocracy, influence from the orient and acid colors Alessandro described it best when he opened the show by stating “I’m not really clear what’s the color of the season, you choose”.
