A WOMAN’S GUIDE TO LONDON

Marissa Montgomery, London’s it-girl t-shirt designer takes Lapalme through the ultimate GLAM girls day in the UK’s Capitol.

Marissa Montgomery designer of Celebrity T-shirt brand Rotten Roach worn by the likes of Kate Moss, Louise Roe, and Rosie Huntington-Whitely lives in London and shares some of her favorite hotspots.

There is no end to how exciting and beautiful London is; here are a few of my favorite places to explore while visiting.

WORK IT BABY

KX JUICES

The Best gym in London is KX members club located in the heart of Chelsea. You are likely to see anyone from Pippa Middleton to Hugh Grant taking one of the amazing classes they offer from Francesca the Method who trains the Ladies of London to Paola’s Body Barre. Alternatively, if you do not fancy sweating at least head to the KX café and try having one of their world famous juices, made from the finest ingredients.

Head-to-Toe Fabulous the London Way

LISA FRANKLIN FACIAL SPA

face facts – Get the London Girl Glow with my fave facialist Lisa Franklin situated just a stone’s throw from Harrods she is the go to for all my friends. Even if you do not have time for one of her world famous Oxygen facials, stop by to pick up one of her new Primers     she just launched that keeps skin hydrated and your makeup flawless.

finger on the pulse – Get a luxury mani-pedi at Vos beauty Salon located on the Kings Road. With  the royal treatment, your nails leave resilient and ready for anything.

cut and color – Paul Edmonds is the only place I trust in London to Cut and Color my hair it’s the ultra-chic Knightsbridge salon. It’s also where Christina Hendricks, Emma Thompson and Sam Smith go when their manes are in need of taming.

wax – For a virtually painless procedure, slip into Bliss spa on Sloane.

SLEEPING BEAUTY

If you are going to sleep anywhere, it has to be The Chiltern Firehouse. With its cozy fireplaces and insane cocktails, it is where every tourist should stay to be thrown into the epicenter of London living.

EAT

The list of incredible restaurants is endless but here are some of my favorites.

breakfast – If flavorful and organic is your taste check out ‘The Good Life Eatery’ try their healthy breakfasts, especially the Skinny Royal, the smoked salmon is divine! lunch – Borough Market is the most renowned food market; bursting with magnificent British and international produce. It is a haven for anybody who cares about the quality of the food they eat chefs and people who just happen to love eating and drinking. It is like the Disney World of food.

tea – Do not miss sipping on the Queen’s favorite tea at Fortnum and Mason. Tea is crucial to how we solve all our problems in England. It is the best for Royal Blend tea and Scones with heaps of Clotted cream and delicious jam. Everything there is beautiful from the cakes to the teacups.

dinner – Go for savory Italian at a little neighborhood restaurant called La Famiglia. Been around over 35 years and they have Spaghetti with fresh clams and garlic that they call Vongole but I call it heaven!

SHOP

Boutiques are a marvelous way to shop in London; Baar and Bass is a lifestyle boutique with a unique blend of fashion and furniture. Donna Ida is the ultimate designer denim destination; both are great for fetching charming gifts or chic outfits for yourself and the ones you love. Stop by Albermale Street and check out British Designer Amanda Wakeley’s  new  Flagship   store.   Housed in a beautiful building with a sensational twisted staircase, shop and experience an effortless journey into the Amanda Wakeley lifestyle just another little London treasure. Selfridges, Topshop, Harrods, and Harvey Nichols are also favorites for fabulous fashion, food, and gifts.

SEE

Theatre in London is spectacular whether you want to go to Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in the round or head to London’s hip Southbank and check out what is on at The National Theatre. There are many  great  galleries;  White  Cube  in Bermondsey, the Saatchi gallery in Chelsea, the Serpentine that is situated in Hyde Park or everyone’s favorite the Tate Modern. If you enjoy Ballet or Opera, the Covent Garden Opera house is necessary with its red and gold décor it is quite breathtaking. Otherwise for a low-key movie night, head to the Electric cinema on Portobello road with its vintage inspired cinema.
