Actress Christa B. Allen and producer Johnny What are a match made in music heaven. The two are more than just your average Hollywood couple. They have gone on and formed music duo Pour Vous. We sat down with the two to talk about their early beggings and their upcoming EP.

How would you describe your music style of your band, Pour Vous?

Christa + Johnny: Trip-pop. Trip-hop influences with catchy melodies. The vibe is dark, sexy, moody.

How did you two meet? When did you two decide to collab?

Christa: We met at a Venice house party more than 2 years ago. We were friends for a year before Johnny confessed his love and we started dating, and it was about 6 months into our relationship before we started writing songs together. It was a natural progression as we both love to write, we both love music, and we both love to tell stories…

We love your latest single “Scorpio”! What’s the story behind it?

Christa + Johnny: It’s sexy, it’s sexual, it’s liberated. It was the first song we wrote. It is a hypnotic, erotic anthem devoted to worshipping empowered female sexuality. It’s for ladies who love sex for pleasure, and the men and women who love them!

Do you have an EP or album coming out soon? If so, what can we expect from it?

Christa + Johnny: Our strategy is to release singles so that each track gets noticed. That’s how many of music’s biggest acts are doing it these days, and we think it’s for a reason. We live in a distraction-based culture now. There are 1000 new things to catch your eye each moment.

Who were some of your musical influences growing up and did they have any influence on your new music?

Johnny: Big acts like The Rolling Stones, Queen, & Michael Jackson, alongside local Seattle indie bands like Sunny Day Real Estate and Pedro the Lion.

Christa: I want to follow in the footsteps of acts like Thievery Corporation, Morcheeba, Massive Attack, Zero 7 and Air. I’ve also always loved indie rock acts like The White Stripes and Modest Mouse.
