Iconic by Design: Priscilla Martinez Reimagines Swimwear with Soul

From Vegas sunsets to Greek island dreams, Atelier Martinez is a celebration of bold women and unforgettable destinations.

After dazzling at the 2025 Gurus Beauty Awards, Priscilla Martinez has cemented herself as one of the most exciting forces in fashion. Her brand, Atelier Martinez, stands out in a sea of sameness, combining wanderlust, femininity, and unfiltered individuality into swimwear that turns heads and tells a story.

More than just fashion, Atelier Martinez is a deeply personal journey. It’s a tribute to powerful women, to Priscilla’s mother and muse, and to the fire that lit within her after a fashion faux pas in Las Vegas changed everything.

“When I was about nine years old, my mom asked me and my sister to design a wedding dress,” she recalls. “From that moment, we were obsessed…”

That moment sparked a love for design that led her to the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), where she earned her degree in fashion merchandising. But for a time, the dream dimmed.

“I started seeing it more like a hobby,” she admits. “It didn’t feel like something I could turn into a career.”

That all changed in 2013 during a now-infamous pool party in Las Vegas.

“We looked like we were cheerleaders for the Dallas Cowboys,” she laughs, recalling how she and thirty other women showed up in the same $400 swimsuit.

Determined never to blend in again, Priscilla began designing for herself. Her first creation—a one-shoulder coral lace bikini with gold chains—earned praise and curiosity from strangers.

“I just didn’t want to look like everybody else… I realized then that I wasn’t the only one craving uniqueness.”

Every Atelier Martinez collection since has reflected that original spark: bold, travel-inspired, and deeply personal.

Her Santorini Collection channels Mediterranean whites and sea blues.

Birds of Paradise blooms with tropical vibrance.

Onyx, born from a dress in Tulum, features rich texture and moody elegance.

Sunset Collection, inspired by a Vegas photo, turns pastel skies into wearable gradients.

And the upcoming Guajira Collection honors the Wayuu people of Colombia, featuring intricate embroidery and earthy tones of terracotta, turquoise, and cream.

“I sketch constantly,” she shares. “Even when I travel with my mom, I keep a pen and paper nearby. Inspiration is everywhere.”

Atelier Martinez recently turned heads at Miami Swim Week, where Priscilla’s collection was met with admiration from the front row to backstage.

“The models told me they felt sexy, confident—they wanted to wear my swimsuits, not just model them,” she says. Even the show director left the balcony to see the line up close.

But it’s not just about the aesthetic—it’s about how a woman feels in the suit. Priscilla understands what it’s like to love fashion but not feel seen by it.

“People would say I looked vulgar just because I have curves. That stuck with me.”

That’s why inclusivity is a non-negotiable part of the brand. Her next collection allows customers to select their preferred coverage level—Brazilian, full, or classic—and even offers custom sizing.

“I want you to feel incredible in my pieces, no matter your shape, your age, your story,” she says.

As the official launch of Atelier Martinez draws near, Priscilla is focused on exclusivity and quality over mass production.

“My goal is for women to walk into Nikki Beach, Ibiza, or a resort in Mykonos and feel like the moment,” she says. “You’re not just buying a bikini, you’re buying the feeling of being iconic.”

At the heart of it all is one constant: her mother.

“She’s stunning and confident. I want her, and other women like her, to feel fabulous without compromise,” she says. “She’s my biggest supporter, my inspiration, and my partner in crime.”

Atelier Martinez isn’t just a swimwear brand—it’s a movement for women who are done hiding, done blending in, and ready to claim their space.

It began with a sketchbook. Now, it’s a statement.
