Italian Appetizers to Serve At Your Next Party by Caroline D’amore owner of D’Amores

Make your holiday’s a little more Italian this year with Caroline D’Amore. She is a notable DJ and influencer who has recently joined the family business, reinventing her grandmothers famous recipes that put D’Amores on the map. The woman does it all, from flying to Miami to spin an event, to handling catering orders at their 3rd Street location in West Hollywood, to taking care of her toddler. She recently launched D’Amores catering which was just featured at the Forever 21 holiday bash, Jessica Alba’s Honest Company holiday fair and the LaPalme Fall issue party to note!

Whether you’re bringing a dish to a holiday gathering or hosting friends and family yourself, Caroline D’Amore of D’Amores shares with us quick and delicious at-home appetizers that are sure to please!

Sliced Figs with Spicy Gouda 

Slice figs into flat rounds use as many as you need and place them on to a serving dish.
Spicy smoked gouda mixture:
  • 2 cups shredded smoked gouda cheese (a 6-8 oz block should be plenty)
  • 4 oz light cream cheese.
  • 1/4 cup light mayonnaise.
  • 2 small jalapenos (less if you don’t like spice!)
  • 4 green onions, thinly sliced.
  • few drops of Worcestershire sauce.
  • season to taste: salt, pepper, red pepper flakes.
Mix it all up and using a spoon top small top the mixture into each sliced fig.
Layered Italian Dip 
Prep time 10 min, Total Time 25 min. Servings 16 servings 2 tbsp each
Ingredients – Marscapone Cheese, Shaved Parmesan Cheese, Pesto, Roasted Red Peppers and Mozzarella
8oz Marcapone cheese:
  • 1/4 cup Shaved Parmesan
  • 1/3 cup Pre-made pesto ( time saver ) or feel free to make your own fresh pesto
  • 1/2 cup roasted red peppers, drained, chopped
  • 1 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese
Heat oven to 350 F
Mix Marscapone cheese and Shaved Parmesan until blended spread onto bottom of 9-inch pie plate
Add a layer of the pesto and roasted red peppers
Top with the Mozzarella cheese
Bake 15 minutes until heated through and lightly browned on top.
Enjoy with sliced baguette or pita chips
Asparagus Wrapped in Crisp Prosciutto 
This appetizer is extremely easy and surprisingly elegant
Ingredients:
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 16 slices of fresh asparagus trimmed ( or as many as you want )
  • 16 slices of Prosciutto ( or the same amount as the asparagus )
  • 1/2 cup of goat cheese
Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F (220 degrees C).
Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil, and coat with olive oil.
spread goat cheese on the inside of each piece of Prosciutto.
Wrap one slice of prosciutto cheese side down around each asparagus spear, starting at the bottom, and spiraling up to the tip.
Place the wrapped spears on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 5 minutes in the preheated oven.
Remove, and shake the pan back and forth to roll the spears over.
Return to the oven for another 5 minutes, or until asparagus is tender, and prosciutto is crisp.
Serve immediately.
