After joining the cast and crew at the world premiere screening of My Friend Dahmer at the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival held at Cinepolis Chelsea on April 21, 2017, cast members Ross Lynch, Anne Heche, Alex Wolff, Dallas Roberts, Cameron McKendry, along with director Marc Meyers, arrived to The Ainsworth in Chelsea for a private after party presented by Wanderluxxe, the luxury film festival concierge service run by Marti Hines and Lola Wood. Other guests included Joy Bryant & Dianna Agron who came together. They are both jurors this year for the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival Nora Ephron prize.
The guests, about 40 in all, sat in a private area in the back of the bar where the atmosphere was fun and lively and everyone was having a good time. “It was an intimate event. It felt like a party of friends celebrating friends. It was warm and inviting. Everyone enjoyed congratulating the cast as well as those who worked behind the scenes. It’s exciting to see all of the hard work behind a film come to fruition.”- says Lola Wood, co-founder of Wanderluxxe.
The film is already getting positive reviews as this a departure from the ex-Disney star’s typical roles. Ross Lynch stated that he didn’t know who Jeffrey Dahmer was before taking on the role, (as he was born in ’95, Dahmer died in ’94), and says his resemblance to young Jeffrey Dahmer “is kinda scary”.
“We love supporting indie filmmakers!” Says Marti Hines, co-founder of Wanderluxxe. “Their stories are being heard on larger platforms and we are excited and honored to help celebrate their art. Next, we are hosting a party with Sean “Diddy” Combs on 4.27.17 and we’re thrilled about it.
