Beverly Hills most luxurious hair salon, Cristophe Salon is celebrating their 30th anniversary. The salon, led by haute hair couturier Cristophe Schatteman, has been home to some of the biggest names in entertainment and politics such as Brad Pitt, Kate Hudson, Nicole Kidman, Hillary and Bill Clinton, among many others. The salon opened in 1986 and Cristophe now boasts five salons around the country with nearly 90 stylists, colorists and manicurists as well as two product lines Cristophe Professional, and a volumizing hair care line he started with Actress Denise Richards.
Cristophe who started as an apprentice at the age of 13 in Brussels, worked in Paris, the South of France, Spain and London as a L’Oreal artist. His first client was actress Kelly Le Brock, whose famous big perm for Weird Science resonated worldwide as the hottest look of the day. From there he became famous for handling some of the most important heads of the time – Dustin Hoffman, Robin Williams, Denise Richards, Pamela Anderson, Bruce Springsteen, Mick Jagger, Kate Capshaw, Hillary Clinton (whose hair he still handles today) and of course, Bill Clinton. The “hairgate” controversy in 1993, where he cut President Clinton’s hair on Air Force One on the tarmac of LAX, launched his name worldwide.
While I am not a celebrity or politician by any means, I was lucky enough to have my hair cut by Cristophe himself in honor of the 30th Anniversary. Going into my appointment I was not sure what to expect as I had never been to the salon. All I knew was that I wanted to cut 3-4 inches off but decided to leave the rest to the expert. Everyone at the salon was so welcoming and the salon itself was beautiful and large with a white atheistic.
Sitting down in the chair with Cristophe felt like I was sitting down with someone I had known my whole life. He was so welcoming and easy to talk to. The hours I was there went by very quickly and I was so pleased with the results. Cristophe is such a perfectionist and made sure that everything was to his liking before letting me out of his chair. If you are looking for a high-end luxury hair salon in the heart of Beverly Hills, this is your spot.
While there, Cristophe used some of his own products on my hair. During my blow dry session he generously applied the Volumizing Spray Tonic to add more texture. I loved the way this product made my hair feel. It did not weigh down my hair at all but added some serious volume. After my visit, I also decided to purchase the Volumizing Shampoo and Volumizing Conditioner. I couldn’t be more please with the results I have gotten from these items as well. After only using them for around two weeks, I have noticed fuller and thicker hair. My hair also has a new shine to it.
Cristophe’s other salon locations include Newport Beach, Beverly Hills, Las Vegas, Washington DC, and St. Barth. Next time you are passing through one of these locations or find yourself there on vacation, make sure to stop into one of these locations for you next cut and color!
