“As a makeup artist, one of my favourite beauty looks is creating skin that looks as if it came back from holiday. Sure, you can pile on the concealer and pink blush, but a good glow beats any fresh look—hands down (sorry pink blush). And you’re in luck: this season there are two liquid bronzers that give a good sun-kissed complexion without looking fake. To complement the nude glow, I like the idea of modern and graphic details to keep it very fresh, fun and simple.

For this beauty editorial, I sheered out a few drops of Armani Maestro Bronzer in 100, with moisturizer to tan Shani’s skin. I used Shiseido Cream Compact in O60 very lightly, to even out the complexion. The contour and highlight shades are from the Anastasia Contour Cream Kit in Medium, I love how the shades are warm so they don’t clash with the tan. For the sunny cheek flush, I used the coppery shade from the NARS Dual Intensity blush in Liberation (new this summer), and to finish it off, I patted on just a touch of Giorgio Armani Maestro Bronzer on cheeks and sides of forehead to intensify the tan where the sun would naturally hit the face. I set the makeup with a light translucent powder by NARS, to let the dewiness shine through.”

Image 3 (gold top): Kat Von D Lightning Liner in Gould has a very intense metallic finish for maximum impact. For a great nude lip on tan skin, I love the combo of M.A.C. Stone lipliner blended with Siss lipstick. Vintage Saks Fifth Avenue wrap top from Bazar De Ville.

These multipurpose liquid bronzers can be mixed with moisturizer or foundation to get a subtle beach-worthy glow. You can also apply them directly onto the skin like a bronzer. You’ll get the most natural effect when you do both!

Giorgio Armani Maestro Bronzer: It’s great for darker, Mediterranean complexions, that have olive or red undertones. It comes in three intensities and  it’s very pigmented.

NARS Laguna Liquid Bronzer. The formula is a tad more sheer, but it’s meant for paler complexions with golden and/or peach undertones.
