LD: I own two salons and my son Chelby owns a Prive’ Salon License in Orlando. I merged my LA salon with Byron William who used to work with me in Beverly Hills and I bought 50% of an existing salon on 5 East 57 St. The new salon is called L’Appartement Prive’. I spend most of my time in New York now for special events and private clients. AC: That is great news! Can you tell me a little about your background and where you’re from? LD: It’s the best industry in the world! All I can say is work hard, stay humble, and surround yourself with talented people. . AC: Where did your desire to produce a product line come from? LD: I was tired of taking two suitcases of products every time I was going to a photo shoot so I decided to create my own line. AC: Are there any new products being released? And where can we find them? LD: I always come out with two new products every year. We are in 600 salons and in 12 countries.
